So my tank is pretty much clean and clear of Cyano except I noticed it really showin up a lot in the refugium.

Help me out guys what to do? Should I drop a couple of red hermits in there ?
Maybe let my conch roam around in there for a few days?
I didn't notice because my lights are goin on in reverse cycle so I never really see my refugium on as much as I'd like. I do look at it but rarely with the lights on

    Any suggestions would help :)

This is on my 125 with 30 sump and maybe 5-10 gallons in the refugium area. I have a 6500 k compact florecwnt in a home depot clip on shop light for 12 hours or so a day

To be honest, I've never really cared about what my refugium had in it, as long as my main tank was clear.

I suppose if you want to try to get rid of it, you could do a blackout or increase circulation. Those are the typical short term fixes for cyano. The long term fix is to limit the nutrients in your system.

+1 If you get rid of it in your 'fuge but do nothing with decreasing nutrients, then it will likely show up in your DT. Better to leave it where it is IMO.

if its in the fuge and not in the DT then my opinion is leave it there to do its job in reducing nitrates and phosphates for you

if its an aesthetic issue then manual removal whilst return is off to stop it spreading to main tank

or lights off, blanket the fuge - keep it dark for 3 or 4 days and it should all vanish when you uncover it again
if you have macro algae in there, you may want to remove , rinse and keep in a bucket near a window with an air stone for some circulation for those 3 days so you do not lose much of that in the process of blacking out the fuge

    + 1 on circulation
+ 1 be happy it's in the refugium best place for it.

The 65k bulb and circulation are the reasons for the cyno

I'll prolly add a small nano power head which I want to because I planned on doing a deeper sand bed than I ended up with when I designed the dump so it doesn't get that much flow in the bottom and I'll pull some out every water change. I think I'm gonna add some hermits anyway

adding circulation will help big time :)

imo don't add hermits they will eat the good stuff first anyway. Having micro and macro algae is the key to a great refugium
