finally conquered my algae problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my tank is pretty again i was having a really bad cyano problem for about a month or so and had two deaths within a couple of months and then things just looked like they were going down hill.

I was tired of my cyano issue so i decided to take the first step to get rid of it, which was adding more flow so i bought a Koralia evo 1050 to go with my vortech mp20 it's been about 2 weeks and my algae is gone :D

i had some problems with my LPS because of so much flow and they were just not looking good at all, so i adjusted the evo a bit and moved the corals around some, their not exactly like how they were before but they are looking healthy again.

and now my rocks are algae free, one rock has some small patches of GHA but im not to worried, i have a patch of thick algae on my sand by my bubble coral but im not too worried about that either. and my sand is pearly white once again :D

and i can finally enjoy my tank again :D just so nice to overcome something like that :D

yea the 1050 is pretty sweet

yup phosphates have always been 0 i think the main reason for the outbrake was because my tank is still new *8 months* and when my tank cycled i never got a cyano outbrake, so i think my outbrake was delayed

When I get cyano waves, I leave my light off for 2-3 days and it dies off. While I'm doing that, I try to figure out where the source of the problem is. Once it was my lights being old, the other 2 times was my source RO/DI being "dirty" 122ppm TDS.
I also use this stuff at times:
    Blue Life Phosphate Rx 1oz

So you just increased flow? im at that 2-3 month mark and am having my breakout but I've let it get out of hand. Right now on my 55 i have a sureflo maxijet 1200 and its almost too much flow (1600gph) but tomarrow i should get my pump and sump stuff so that will replace the maxi or at least i can downgrade it to stock and blast my low flow areas

a 1050 and an mp20 on a 46G....hmmm, I'm only using 2 evo 750s on my 70G. maybe too little flow is big part of my algae problem (currently battling cyano too)?

Be prepared for Bryopsis now. I had a wave of gha, beat that. Then had a wave of cyano, beat that. Now I have a wave of bryopsis. Once one dies, it seems like there is always another one to replace it. I even have a massive ball of cheato in my tank too.
