cyano question

Sea Hare's! I've had a few guys I know personally debate me on this issue but I have a Sea Hare that chows down on Cyano. They are the best algae CUC hands down IMO. I have some video footage that shows a Sea Hare eating it if you are in disbelief.

 

if you don't fix the problem cyano will just come back or be replaced by other algae.
what do you feed? how big is your tank? how big are your fish? what kind of water changes do you do? what equipment do you have?

 

The Red Slime on the sand could be caused by dead spots of flow. Move a powerhead to flow over the area of reddening and it should go away. Depending on what you have for a tank, I am a fan of having more, smaller powerheads, rather than a couple big ones blasting two directions. That way you really create nice turbulent flow throughout all levels of your tank.

 

Nutrients, reduced water flow, light all can spur cyanobacteria.
