I picked up a few coral frags the other day, and today I noticed one of them has a little bit of cyanobacteria on it. I haven't seen a spec of cyano in my tank so im assuming it came from the frag. anywhoo my Q is, would dipping it in coral RX for about 5 minutes make it go away?

Just brush it off. I use my cleaning brushes to clean it off before adding it to st.

It's already in my DT I just noticed it today I will just take it out and scrub it off I guess. can I do the same thing with bubble algae.? I have lots of that too that I need to get rid of.. my emerald crabs don't seem to be eating it.

Make sure it is indeed cyano and not byropsis. They can be confused with eachother, and it seems unlikely cyano would hang on for the ride with a frag.

It looks like red slime to me... I will just dip it.

Both should vacuum loose fairly easily with a small hose. Just do that while draining water for a water change. That would be the least invasive method.

yea I know if it pops it spreads like wildfire, I was thinking of taking out the rock that is covered in it and removing it then putting it back into the tank

i believe with bubble algae, when attached to a rock, you take the rock out, pop all the bubbles under running water, soak it in water thats not from your tank, then run it under water again and then put it back in.
