Def. cyano! Try to increase flow in that area if you can.

Dude... Get that out of you tank as fast as you can.

It has taken over my ENTIRE tank. It's everywhere. All over my powerheads, rocks, filter, everything. I litterally remove 90% of it, and it's back the next day.

What are your nitrates / phosphates at?

siphon it out, and remove those dead snail shells. you have a high organic compounds in your water. try removing, water change, increase flow, lower your lighting cycle by 1-2 hours a day, clean/check out your skimmer, start using a gfo/phosphate remover, feed every other day.. if you do all this and still have problems in a month.. you can do a last resort at try some chemiclean.

Woah, it really doesnt bother me that much. It even isnt growing very fast either so im not worrying too badly. Also, those snail shells are for my hermits, which have definately and consistnely been switching shells out so i will leave them in. Hm, dont use a skimmer (not gonna buy one either), not gonna buy a gfo or phosphate remover. I will feed less though, i have been over feeding. Nitrates are normal, dont have a phosphate test. Thanks for the help! Ill keep an eye on it, was mostly just looking for an identification.

Beginner corals and nano fish. I've done a lot of research, well prepared for what im getting myself into. I wouldnt consider myself an "irresponsible tank owner" because i wont buy a skimmer though.... Ill siphon the cyano out and keep an eye on nitrates and any more growth.

I hope you do realize that nitrates and phosphates can and do leech into calcium carbonate, especially when detritus decays right on the rock itself.
