    I always cycle with a fish and always will. Using a prawn/shrimp does not provide a constant supply of ammonia which is what you need to insure that your bacteria doesn't die off after the dead shrimp is done producing ammonia. So, unless you want to keep replacing that dead shrimp every week or so until the cycle is complete, it's not going to work.

    To each his own. Everybody's got their way of doing things and cycling with a fish doesn't make somebody a monster. Try not to treat each other as such :)
