cycling my 55g a bit faster?

im not looking to rush into adding livestock to the tank but possibly giving it a helping start

right, ive just got off the phone with parcel force in the uk and my glass holes overlfow kit has been released from the customs tax grabbers, finally.

i already have a 60ltr tank and i am just about to clean the filters and change some water. obviously theres going to be an army of good stuff in this water and i am wondering if i add all this into my tank when i fill it on the weekend and everytime i do over the next few months if it will speed my cycle up a bit, im not looking for miracles obviously as theres a lot to be cycled at the end of the day , or am i better off waiting for it to do it itself.

all my parameters in my nano are good and theres always plenty of liv stuff in my filters

 

Yes, you should definitely put some water from the nano into the 55 gal. Better yet, if you place a sponge or filter pad in it to collect detritus, it will also collect heaps of bacteria that you can transfer to the new tank...

It may not speed the cycle up a whole lot, but it will help... do you plan to add live rock to the 55g?

yes i plan on using about 24k in main tank and another 4-6k in my sump.
luckily i have about 10k in my nano already but i wont ad any of that until its done as its 2 1/2 years matured now and i wouldnt want to ruin any of this i had paid a premium for this stuff aswell

as for the sponge, my nano collects loads of this stuff i just squeeze it our and add it aswell, i also get little shrimps in this aswell to theyl go in with the mix
