I have set up a new 150 gal tank with a 55 gal sump/fuge. Fuge on the right, sump with skimmer on left, with return pump in the middle. In a effort to keep the nasties out Im using dry sand and 150 pounds of Reef Saver Eco Dry Rock from BRS. I want to cycle with some damsels, my question is how many do you think I should drop in to ensure a successful cycle?

haha so true ... Damsels are like Goldfish, they are cool to look at but not in your own tank. ;D

    I was thinking 5 or 6.

I'd say a school of 5 or 6 chromis before that many damsels..at least they seem to die off through attrition..:p
..the damsels would be like a gang of thugs... lol

ahh very nice, a Damsel with a TWIST ... at least these guys look cooler. I would be okay with 5 or 6 Chromis for a little while.

Ill have to clock their speed before I buy them to make sure I can catch them when its time to kick them out. 8)

I would cycle with a dead shrimp instead of live animals.

That was the original plan however, I wont be here to make sure everything stays on track. I have to leave for a few months and leave my wife with the tank. I was looking for an easy way to cycle it while Im gone. I think feeding 5 or 6 fish and topping off the water will be easy for her to do for a few months.
