ok so i got inventive at home depot.I built my own coral viewer using a 4 inch pvc coupling,Small sheet of acrylic, and gel super glue.I had home depot cut the coupler down to about 3/4 of an inch just to make it slim and i have more pipe to make more also.I cut out a square from the acrylic and i used the super glue to mount the pvc to the acrylic by applying the glue to the pvc and placing the pvc on the square firmly. After it set i went around the outer edge of the pipe with the glue to seal it tight. After that you should trim the excess square to fit flush. Its works great and stays afloat.I will take pics after i trim it up at work.

Okay maybe not, however it would be great to have some. I am interested in this for another project I am working on in a freshwater tank I have.

Truth be known I have just really wanted to just use that pic since I first saw it. :p

    Nice DIY.

If you go a bit longer on the PVC (so it could be submersed part way), this would also make a great tool for top-down photo shots of coral. Just paint it black add thumb screws to the PVC.

This was just a trial run on the idea a 2 ft piece is only like 8 bucks.
If i make it too long it would stand on its own.
What kind of paint should i use.

I wonder if you could use a dremel tool (if you already have one)? I bet it would work pretty well.
