    I built one similar...I found a cheap magnifying glass at wally world that when I removed the housing the lens just happened to fit perfectly in a piece of 4" PVC. I ran a bead of epoxy around the edge to hold it in place/make it waterproof. Works great for checking for pests or just cool magnified viewing.

    Do you have any specs on which magnifying glass it was that would be very helpful to anyone who wanted to go that route.This way does magnify it a little bit but not a whole lot.

    I finally found time and remembered to finnish this.I trimmed it with a dremel tool using a cut off wheel and a sanding bit.I will post a pic tomorrow after my camera batteries charge.

    Cool. I made two if these myself. One is just look-down with a piece of acrylic. The other has a magnifying lens. That part cost me $5 in the office supplies section of Walmart.

    I painted both the tubes black...will be making a few more for friends.
