D120 LED fixture

There is a Group Buy on my local forum for this lights. I have a 125 reef tank. I use MH and T-5s. I think its made by Evergrow. Yes, it is china made. But price for a unit is only 112$. It has 2 red, violet, green, 23 blue and 26 white. No programing just 2 knobs to dimm whites and blues. Any experience with them. Id like to try LEDs but I don't want to pay so much money. Cost of those 2 units equal cost of my all bulbs witch I need to replace next week. So if I don't like it next year can come back to my MH and T-5s. What you guys think? Thanks.

 

Go for it. I used an Evergrow unit for awhile, but now use MH. Decent light. A local reefer has a tremendous SPS tank with them over his tank.

 

But why did you come back to MH?

 

I was having problems with SPS color and growth that I later found out wasn't lighting related. I assumed it was and made the switch.

 

A guy local to me uses 13 of these fixtures over his tank (huuuge tank) Full and I mean full of sps wall to wall and its one of the nicest tanks ive ever seen in my life.

 

Really... Thats nice. The only downside is that they don't have programer build in and you have to use timers... I could pay little more to have that future. But i guess that is why we can buy them that cheap..

 

Sounds a lot like the value fixture that Reef Breeders sells (which I just bought one of myself!). What is the warranty on it?

 

Im not sure. I think 2 years. Do you like yours? You think is enaugh for SPS?

 

I have two ever grow progrAmmable fixtures and absolutely love them. Sps under them growth is amazing. Lps is great also! Only downside is like others have said they're not programmable. Mine has the controller built in, my units were 300 each with a 2 year warranty
