See Im new to LEDs. I asked on that group buy and they asked me " Why I need those Neutral whites" What is reason to have Neutral Whites really? Thanks. Sorry for silly questions.. Maybe I ask that question on new thread...to get quicker answer..

If you have an Apex and VDM, or an older Aquacontroller and AquaSurf module you can control a standard D120. I'll be working on a write up this weekend.

Its the spectrum they produce. I can tell you when I researched to build my retrofit for my 28 nano, everything I read said to be at a 2-1 ratio blues to white (with around 1/4 of the blues being UV (really TV)), go with either Neutral or Cool white (7500k) (these spectrums are supposed to be "better" for coral growth vs. 10k) , then add in 1 green or cyan (I prefer cyan) and 1 deep red for every 20-30 total LEDs or so (the reds especially can be overpowering). This is what I used for my build, and is almost identical in ratio to what Reef Breeders uses in their value fixture.

I know its not quite the help you were looking for, but just wanted to share what I found when I did my research trying to build full spectrum lighting.

I'm probably going to buy a photon 48, I have two of the ever grow fixtures that are basically the same as the reefbreeders photon 16, I would let them go for 250 a piece. Of you are interested

Hi - 1st post to this site! :) I'm on another board, WAMAS, and going participate in their next group buy for a D120. You say the LEDs can be swapped out. How easy is it to swap out lights?
