2 months will not always tell the tail I have seen them live for upwards of 6 months even 9 months once in a while if the aquarium is dosed several times a day with a good healthy culture of the proper phytoplankton's . As for the marine snow :) there is nothing in that bottle of water the scallops will feed upon as its mostly if I recall correctly zoo-planktons and not phytoplankton. If you by chance are truly lucky then maybe the one you have will see the 6 month mark ? If your scallop should see 9 months go out and buy two lottery tickets and send me one . I'd guess 9 maybe 10 months was about the best any I ever tried lived for .Good luck

Just read some info on the supplement, Marine Snow. Found a nutrition chart, on FS Aquatics site.

    Guaranteed Analysis

    Protein min. 0.10%
    Fat min. 0.01%
    Fiber max. 0.3%
    Moisture max. 99.6%

What is to be obtained from this? Yes, I know, plankton, but I mean as far as nutritional value; what are inverts getting from it? There doesn't seem to be too much in it..
