i just check and make sure everything is working right. every couple of day i do a top off. and a water change every other week.

but if you need a daily routine you could do a one gallon water change

I would suggest monitoring your parameters closely to see how your tank uses elements, Ca, Mg and carbonates, then you can determine how to dose your elements to keep them in balance. I just change water when I need to suck out some algae and such

not wanting to do daily wc... thinking more in line with checking ph/alk(easy to check with hanna digital meter) possibly dosing ph buffer with top off ro/di water, blowing off lr and sand with turkey baster, clean glass with magfloat, empty skimmer waste etc....etc....etc.... , check mag and cal weekly

what about other reefers out there? anybody in that line of routines?

cool, thats pretty much what i do... i been having problem keeping the ph up... started today dosing buffer. thought i would stick with it daily to see if ph would stay in the 8.2 range.... i try to keep alk at 12-14 dkh, it drops slowly.... i try to keep cal at 450 ppm, it slowly rises....i try to keep mag at 1500 ppm, it very slowly drops

I change out filter pads every other day, check skimmer for waste build up and check water level. Luna
