Now I'd like to see them do something to help restore the reefs destroyed by the dive industry in the keys.

Over a number of years of diving (responsibly) at a reef off Marathon I watched a reef take a tumble from over-diving. We ended up going to another nearby, unmarked reef that was tougher to find until that too started getting screwed up.

This was the reason I stopped diving in the US.

Id love to see something done as well. Ive only gone diving once, but it was one of the main reasons why I got into salt water years ago. What reef are you referring to near Marathon Key? That is where I had dove and am planning another trip for this year.

It was Sombrero Reef, the one that surrounds the light house off the 7 mile bridge. If that's where you're going, post what you see after you go. I'd be interested to hear about the condition of the reef there.

The second spot we started going to was Delta Shoals, which is a couple miles east of Sombrero.
