So I've been slowly working on a high light, high flow 20g low for a while now and my girlfriend is starting to help out. We got some work done today and I thought it's about time to start the build thread.
The tank will have a 24in 4bulb t5 current fixture. 10gal sump. ramora aqua-c protein skimmer. Aqua-clear filter for carbon.
Here are some pics of what's been going on so far.

Painting the sides for the stand, maybe we'll put them on latter tonight.
I tried to brake my own glass for the over flow, but when I got it in there I realized that the piece I was working with was just a little too big and I was just not happy with it, so pulled it out and got some glass cut at the local glass shop. I hope to make a false backing to hide the return plumbing that will be inside the tank, and put the over flow in some time this week.

Looks great so far, can't wait to see it completed. Sounds like you have it well planned out.

I'm going to use some pond foam to make a back to hide some of my return plumbing and was wondering if any one had any reasons to use egg crate rather than just go right on the tank with the foam other than it being more difficult to clean it off latter if I don't like it.

...looks pretty good so far. :) What are the lower two bulkheads in the tank for? The top 3 appear to be a bean overflow?

Ya it will be a bean overflow, for those that know it's more or less a knock off of reefsparkys tank, but I'll be stoked if I can make a step down of that tank lol.
The two lower bulkheads are return heads. I wanted to have 2 so I could run 2 pumps and alternate them instead of getting a flow controller to create a more inconsistent flow for sps as well as not having to run as much return plumbing inside the tank to get my out flow it different spots.

It's nice to have some one to share the tank with.
