so I can decide how to do the back. I'm thinking about two methods. One way is to use pond foam to cover the back and hide the 1in return pipes in the back of the tank. This would cut 1-2in off the back of the tank depending on how much I wanted to cover the pipe or leave it sticking out. The other way would be to smear silicone all over everything and cover it with CC to make it look like rock. This would leave the pipe looking like a round pipe covered in little rocks. It looks ok, not amazing, but then I could move my rock a little farther back in the tank and possibly hide the pipe as well as having more room.

I think the second option is better, then it would look more like rocks instead of tubes and we'll have more room.

I would just use loc-line and place the rock so that the plumbing is hidden. I'm not a fan of permanent things like what you suggested..

Ya, I'm thinking about doing that when I get to redoing my 55, but I'm going to do one of these methods on this tank.

looks great so far, love the 20 long, such a great footprint.

I had a 20 long as a planted freshwater tank for a very long time and I loved it, I can only imagine all the amazing options for scaping a 20 long for a reef.

Have you contemplated how you are going to set the rock up yet?

ya my brother is into planted tanks and is the one that pointed out the benefits to a 20 long, I'm looking forward to using mine. I'm thinking I'm going to have a larger tall rock in the back side where there is no overflow, and some smaller rocks all around to work with. I'm hoping to grow some nice pieces, so you don't really see much rock :hehe: I'll get some more work done and some pics up tomorrow after I get out of class.

Thank you. I know how it is to overload yourself with tanks ::) I'm trying to make this one nice so I can redo my other system that is not so nice right now:p and not have to do much to this one, but I'm always doing stuff a little beyond my budget and have to wait to make some part of the system work.
