    Hi all
I was getting some water the other day and was talking to a fellow reef tank owner i was telling him how i have trouble keeping my ca levels up and the expence of the ca products eg:turbo calcium.
Then he tells me he uses a cheap product called Damprid purchased from a hardware store says it is calcium chloride.
Just thought i'd run this one past the brains.
Interested to see what they say as this product is easerly googled.

Its just what he said it was Calcium chloride the strength or concentration could be different . It comes in pellets to marbles to flakes and powder . It as a very strong hygroscopic nature thats why its used to absorb moisture in closets and drawers and damp locations . Its also used to cure concrete and Thats why I get mine for use in clients tanks from a friend who is a chemist for a concrete plant in Richmond.. Its very concentrated and very pure.

Just a heads up Keats- while buying a calcium supplement that is far less expensive is a definite bonus- make sure your alk and magnesium levels are also monitored, because your calcium problem is more than likely related to a low magnesium or an insanely high alkalinity.

Also monitor pH while messing with all of this.
