Anyone use this product? I have a moist downstairs (same room as the tank) and my girlfriend picked it up to absorb some of the moisture in the room, but unfortunately I think it is sucking water out of my tank. (Lost 1/2 gal within a day). Just want to see if anyone else tried this product and experience similar issues. Thanks!

It's possible, but the product would have to rid the ambient air of so much humidity to increase evaporation of the tank. I'd think it would be unlikely unless the damp rid is used in large amounts, and the room is small enough, and somewhat enclosed.

A half gallon of loss per day is pretty relative, and dependent upon the tank size. My 90 loses nearly 2 gallons daily, and some larger tanks will evaporate more.

I've used damprid, but for a pretty specialized purpose. I used it dry edible mushrooms picked in the wild (never do this without an experienced mycologist). I'd place the mushrooms on an elevated screen in a shoebox sized contraption, with the damprid on the bottom. Within 3 days or so the mushrooms would be dry enough to snap like wood chips and ready for storage.

A bucket of damprid in a room, though, I've never used. It's pretty effective stuff.
