So in my 55g tank, first two fish were a 3 stripe damsel and a green chromis.

They fought first day and I think 3 stripe damsel came out on top.

Now he roams the tank while green chromis always hides in the same crevice all day long. He only comes out to eat and it seems they call a truce while eating, but soon after 3 stripe stars chasing him again until chromis swims back into his lil cave.

    1) Is my chromis scared or do they always prefer to hide?
    2) Since 3 stripe damsel seems pretty aggressive and I am planning to add more stuff to this community reef tank, should I take him out while it's easy and return them to LFS? Even tho 3 stripe looks brigter and shows better, i kind of want to give the chromis a chance.
    3) Will chromis become aggrssive towards others once 3-stripe is gone and more fish are added?

    Thanks.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The three striped damsels will win out and bully all other fish smaller or weaker than them. IME three stripped and domino damsel can be the very worst offender therefore I do not keep them.

Chromis seem to be a bit more peaceful than damsels. Damsels are known to be very aggresive. It might help to add another chromis as they are schooling fish and do well in groups. I would remove the damsel while you can IMO. If you don't, you will most likely regret it later. Good luck and Happy Reefing!!
