Hello, this is my first salt water tank, and I have 2 - 3 Striped Damsels, I'v had them for about a week now. I'm a little concerned about their health though. I originally put 2 Domino Damsel & 2 3-Striped Damsels when I first put fish in the tank, the Domino Damsels lasted about 4 days. I woke up and they were completely pale and struggled to swim, about 4 hours later they died. Turns out my Nitrite levels spiked when I added my fish, it was a merciless that the other 2 survived. Its been about 7-8 days and my water is testing back into normal ranges so today I bought a new Domino and a snail. My concern now is I got home tonight and the 1st black stripe is beginning to fade on my 3 stripe damsels. Not sure if I'm just paranoid or if their getting sick, either way if I wake up tomorrow and their dead I will be pretty sad.

    Hello and Welcome SammyP

In my experience the best way to make sure those first fish do well is to only add them after the tank has completely cycled. After that add fish only one or two at a time to allow the tank to adjust to the new bio-load.

How big is your tank ?

    Good Luck.
