Ok I know its just a damsel but this has never happened. He has been in my tank for over a month. Just a yellow tail. I added a piece of toadstool coral and some more flow in the tank. A Kora 1.. Light shut off he went in his spot. Lights came on this morning and he has not. He is still just in there wont' come out.. He always comes out when the light comes one.. Should I be concerned? All my levels are normal i just checked them. No different than any other day. 24g nano. Thanks.

basically you changed his environment a little so he is just hiding he should be ok in a few days and as long as he is still eating.

Hmmm...I wouldnt be too concerned unless he doesnt come out for several days. The yellow tails are the least aggressive of the damsels, so maybe its possible the increase in flow might have stressed him a pinch, allthough I wouldnt normally think so. Hell maybe he thinks the coral you just added is a predator, and he is just giving way until he realizes its nothing to worry about...Damsels are weird. I have a female, solid blue, and she was in hiding from day one for almost a week, until my other two damsels died (from what I still dont know) then she came out and is the tank queen.....lol Is he still eating?

I was told to feed him every other day. I feed him frozen food. Had some high nitrates so went to every other day feeding. Should I try and feed him to see if he pops out? Only been a day.

I'd hold off for one more day. The blue damsel I have went for almost a week without eating when she was in hiding. Now she eats like a pig. Just stick with your reg schedule, and see if he comes out to eat. He'll probably be fine in the morning or next day at the latest.
