Dang you petco

Nice find! i was at pet co today and they had about 7 tangs in a one of there SMALL display tangs...ugh so sad!

Fortunately, the Petco by me seems to be changing the way they stock and order fish. I see max of two tangs in one of the 20GL tanks at a time. Unless someone besides other reef people, friend #1 and friend #2, place the orders. They have also been getting some odd fish as far as Petco goes. Sohal tang and then these anthias.

That is exactly why I wanted to try them one last time. I love the Lyretail Anthias.

I have had my Lyretail Anthias for about 7 months. I started with 3 of them one a little larger than the rest thinking this would be perfect. I then saw that there was only two in the tank. I thought maybe he died from others not letting them eat or to timid to eat or something of that nature. Well I then bought 3 more (mind you they are $30 a piece where I am from.) and put them into the tank and thought well maybe if they school they wont be so timid. Well I see the one I had became more agressive to the others and was diving at them and bighting them and locking jaws. Turns out the one was in the process of changing into male and is killing the other ones that are too. Needless to say I have one male and one female and that is all I am buying for the moment. Just a word to the wise, watch for agression and keep in large numbers as a harem, 1 male lots of females 8 is the best number I have heard.

 

That's great. Let us know how they are doing every week. I've gotten a few fish from petco. All died except my 6line. I believe my tank was attacked by something. 3 fish in 1 day no good. So i hired some peeps to clean tank every 3 weeks. Any pics?

And btw...I LOVE CHINA BUFFETS!
