Dangerous Shell?

    You can use super glue gel. Just put a big glob of it on the bottom of the frag plug or rock that the coral is on. Them stick it onto the rock that you want it on and hold for a few seconds. Voilà, you're done :) Since it's a gel, you don't have to worry about it dripping.

    Very cool shell, by the way. I wonder what it came from?

    Are you sure that is a shell and not the skeleton of some prehistoric creature?

    The shell is a from a comb murex...it's indeed a species of snail. And a hungry puffer will nip those "spikes" right off if it decides it wants the crab.

    Additionally, live Murex snails prey on other mollusks.

    I've actually used a combination of regular super glue, but for glueing my rocks I use a product called bsi Ic-Gel which you can use to glue under water so it is super awesome...Just make sure you always buy super glue in gel form and not liquid form.

    Btw I bought the shell from a shell shop in San Diego, with the intent have it as a decoration in my tank, but I guess the crab liked it more....My other crab has a pretty fancy shell too, I'll try to get a pic of him...
