    What kind of skimmer is that?

    Not sure what that is in the last pic, looks kinda like a flat brain coral to me, which it's probably not. :-/

    that would be the well broken in seaclone.
    that coral is kind of jelly like to the touch. when the lights are off its has these white balls around the edges that go away when the light is on.

    ya it needed to be filled, i did it right after the photo shoot. when i add water the skimmer spits micro bubbles for the good part of a day.

    also i like too let it get on the low side, right about where it is in the pics thats about 5 gal. i like to add about 5 gallons of fresh water each time when it needs a filling.

    Dano I would advise against your top off method. The more water evaps the more your salinity, nitrates and what ever else goes up since it doesnt not evap... it just stays in the water... so if you keep you sg at 1.026 after a 5 gal evap it goes up higher. Plus when you top off with your 5 gal your sg goes back down witch some critters may not like very much. Anyways its JMHO and if your method works for you good...
