I received my Reef Saver rock from BRS and overall I'm very pleased with it. However, there are a few pieces that have dark areas on it (see pics). I rinsed it several times with a garden hose, but looks like the only way to clean it is to scrub it. And even that might not work. Does anyone know what this is? If I can't get it clean will it harm my tank? The rock will be used in a new tank build. Thanks!

if you are sysling the tank or if the tank is fairly new then it is algea using the silicate in the rock and will go away after the silicate is used up.
