A mushroom starting from I don't know what is now about an inch tall with two heads is on the back of the newly homed shell. how do I get him out before he kills my mushroom. and before asked he has 4 others to choose from lol.( he picks the freakin one I buried lol)

4 shells isn't enough. They like to have a large selection. I would suggest adding some more. As they molt they get bigger and need bigger shells. The other shells may have been to small for his wants and needs lol

    +1

I have 5 or 6 hermits, and 9 extra shells, which I don't find is enough. I've only had two of them switch shells. One of them switched to a shell that I bought from my LFS, and the other one I'm thinking took a(n alive but now dead) snail's shell

how healthy/big is the mushroom, could you post a picture?

for what its worth iv seen my hermit change his shell and then go back to his old setup the next day, so he may not forcibly stick with his current choice :s

Well iv seen my watermelon mushrooms detach from their mother colony and float around. So if your little guy is really unhappy he will detach by himself (always a preferable option than forcing it) otherwise if you really want to "frag" him he seems big and healthy enough to whit stand the stress.

Cut his foot as close as you can to the rock, keep in mind that getting him to re-attach can be annoying so be ready to tie or rubber band him to a rock. Also you wont see him as glorious till he recovers from the cut. Mushrooms are very hardy but its always best to disinfect your tools.

Personally though i would leave him be. Hopefully Others with a little more exp. will chim in

    Bonne chance
