    So the other day went to an awesome lfs in Norman ,Ok called wet pets awesome freaking place . The manager pointed us in the direction of a orange spotted prawn goby. Awesome guy long story short my coral banded shrimp cut his head off:( wife was mad as heck lol It was sweet of her though cause she supprised me with an awesome coral beauty. I love the fact she is finally getting into saltwater tanks !

    Yeah cleaners can be nasty little buggers, but that is particularly nasty. Make sure the shrimp is getting enough to eat (although they always act like they're starving). Poor goby probably did see it coming. :-/

    I know i didn't he always stays in his cave unless feeding time. I don't think he is gonna get ahold of the beauty though lol. Will post pics as soon as i can upload the pics to a computer

    [​IMG] that is the new guy. also i know i am not in id this or anything but can anyone tell me what kind of coral the green buttons are? it was dropped in bag on accident at petco and i cant tell. thought maybe radioactive dragons eye but it's not green all the way across only on the edges and middle

    Unfortunately, you've found that CBS don't tolerate other shrimp or fishes in their territory in captivity...they also almost always lose their grooming behavior as well. We kept one for over 8 years, and it was always snapping at passing fishes or killing and eating peppermint shrimp when it could catch them.

    On the plus side, they do eat bristleworms...

    I bought a CBS few years ago for it to eat some worms and the only thing it would eat are the snails and my cleaner shrimp. Once it climbed out of the tank!

    It is documented that CBS do not kill fish, but rather, are the victims of anecdotal observation. :D

    While I agree that each individual has it's own personality and that anything with claws has the ability to kill, the CBS is the one shrimp that has never given me any issues. Skunk cleaners and peppermints are a different story...
