    Anyone know about this coral? A friend said he wanted to trade me a small frag of it. It looks cool from the google pics i found. Is it hard to care for?

    Hmm, that's the same coral? lol ok well cool then! So ill just stick it up high in front of my mp10 lol

    Porites is Porites; some fancy name is simply in reference to its coloration.

    There are 50+ species of Porites and the one you are mentioning is just a show name, with no insight of the actual species.

    I do know to get Porites colorful, most of them require a lot of water flow and intense light. More than most corals.

    Well my lights bleach out everything, so light shouldn't be a problem. ahha

    I have a darth maul porites frag. Its been really easy for me, just put it at the top of my tank and really havent had to do anything with it since. Grows pretty nicely

    My point was, the general info/care for porites is universal, regardless of species or some fancy color morph.
