well I now have an official reef tank. I've been curing another 25lbs of lr and today I completely redid my aquascape. Here are before and after pictures. I think it came out well. Thanks to missionsix66 for aquascape pics and advice on how to do this and to lilysgrandfather for their pictures of their aquascapes, I kinda combined the two. I got some more height for the clam and my sps. I like it because I now have a very nice arrangement of levels for various lighting demands. Still going to move some corals around, particularly the leather. Next step is to build and install the sump. Just ordered a bunch of stuff, overflow, pump, salt, test kits, merry christmas to me.

I like the way your tank looks open ( lots of swimming room ) My 55 is way to crowded . I'm working on a 90 and not going to add any more rock to the display then I already have and hopefully mine will look like yours . Looks great !

Here's a big update on my tank. I will do it in two parts. First, I installed a sump back in December and I wanted to post pics. I have two heaters in there, my skimmer, carbon/phosphate reactor and of course return. I made it out of a 20 gal.long. Drain is 1.25" pvc and return is 3/4 pvc. As you can see, I put the sump into an old bathroom that was never finished. Worked out really well. Here are some pics.

 

Now, I just received my order of new corals from Cherry Corals. I bought two different types of acans, a yellow ricordia with blue zoas, the zoas haven't opened up yet, on the rock and a maize brain. Now, I actually received two different types of maize brains because the one I order had been stung by a chalice and didn't want to sell it to me. He said he would substitute a different, but similar brain and throw in a new maize they had not posted yet. I am extremely happy with the two brain I received. One is pink, the other a light purple. I also ordered two polyps of each acan, but received 3 of the one, and two of the other, plus 3 baby polyps, so that was a nice surprise. Of course here are some pics with a full tank shot as of today. My tank has changed a lot already as you can see.
