Dawn/Dusk effect

Is it OK to have my DT light come on at the same time as my actinics, or do I need to have the actinics come on first?

 

How do you like waking up?

I don't think it matters much especially in Summer with long days. It is light before and after my lights go off.

So what are your "DT" lights?

 

Thats a personal preference, but I have my actinics come on 1 hr before and after the MH's

for me it's....

8am moonlights off
8am fuge off

8am actinics on
10am MH’s on
6pm MH’s off
8pm Actinics off

8pm moonlights on
8pm Fuge on

Rinse and repeat

 

I do the same but even went to turning off the moon lights for 5 hours a night of total darkness.

I see what you mean. I don't think it matters. I go to moon lights, power compacts, to halides. So I do what I am capable of. Lots of people just turn their lights on and off.

My only point is that you don't want to just go from darkness to flipping your lights on every day. Fishies migh get cranky after a while.
