I had two Volitans Lionfish and loved their personality. At feeding time they would come right up and let me hand feed them. When I would put my arm in the tank to do any maintenance they would come right up to my hand and arm looking for food and they would pick at the hairs on my arm. It's kind of scary at first but if you don't make any sudden or jerky movements they wont get defensive. Had them for almost one year before I sold the pair. As much as I loved them they were massy eaters, I could not keep anything in the tank with them they would just eat every thing I put in the tank with them. I was surprised at how a Lionfish the size of a grapefruit could open up it's pie hole and just swallow a three inch fish without missing a beat. The dwarfs don't grow as big but they grow fast and are just eating machines so if you put one in your tank you will definitely loose some smaller fish, crabs, shrimp, ext..........
