ive been wondering the same thing but have yet to turn any off at night, i would think your dissolved oxygen may be less?

FYi i run a mag 7 on a SCWD return, + 2 maxi 1200's and a koralia 2 on a natural wave maker. but only one maxi switches off and on every 15 seconds. it makes a nice rolling wave across the top when it starts . my flow is very random i dont think that it is ever the exact same sequence even from cycle to cycle. some time the pumps sync up and form softer waves other time they blow against each other and is very turbulent.

so with always changing flow i dont see a need to.

With all the other stuff pluged in I might as well save a few buck each month by turning them off at night, a penny saved is a penny earned lol

I would advise against it unless with the pumps off you still around 20x turnover.
When the light go off the algae in your tank stop producing oxygen and stop consuming carbon dioxide. This lowers your PH. The lower flow also slows the gas and waste exchange between the corals and the water. So I see no benefit in it at all.

you can use any powerhead with most wavemakers but some work better then other. so some powerheads are noisy when they start up so that wouldnt be pleasant and some take a will to start.

My turnover is about 16x at night and I also keep the fuge light on 24hrs a day. Do you think this setup should be OK?

Yeah that should be okay. A fuge helps a ton.
