I wish I had enough containers and space to premix it. Looks like ill add the sand after the water. Give it a few days to settle down and then add everything. It sucks cuz this tank is going in the same spot as the 65 which makes the switch over suck that much more lol

    Thanks everyone for the comments!!

If you can pour in the sand from the bag it comes in. Rinse it in the bag and drain then lower the bag in cut side up and careful lower to the bottom. Gently dump it out and carefully spread it around.

Buy a couple of 44 gallon Brute trash cans.

What sand are you using, I used reefrocks pre rinsed sand for my upgrade and the tank cleared in under 24 hours.

this is a good idea though, buy them from walmart, keep the receipt, and just clean thouroughly when you're done with them;) I know this is shady but I HATE walmart.

Sounds like a easy way to add the sand. Thanks 2in10

I was thinking about buying more trash cans but running my ro line directly to the tank and adding the salt in there seems way easier lol

Haha not a bad idea to do with the trash cans lol
Prob gunna do caribsea reef grade.
But I was thinking about going sugar sized, not gunna have crazy flow since I don't really dab in sps. But ive read horror storys about sugar sized going everywhere too.

It does until your biofilter establishes in the sand. It still can get blown around even then though.

the caribsea seems to clear up pretty quick. congrats on the upgrade BTW. check out reefrocks sand though, its rather fine, with some bigger particles, I love it. and its pretty cheap and pre rinsed which is a HUGE plus. IMO. it looks yellow out of the tank but is SUPER white in the tank.

Yeah I've always had good results with the caribsea. When I set the 65 up it was clear in a few hours.
I looked at the reefrocks sand. Doesn't look to bad, don't know if I wanna wait for shipping though. I'll have to think about this.
