I think that would be hard to keep the water in check. but its a good way to hide everything, i didnt want to keep anything extreme like SPS maybe a clown with a mem

There will be enough room to run a ato and I'm also cutting a slit in the overflow near the bottom so not just the overflow will drop level, the whole tank will. Trying to protect my filters and heater from running dry if the ato malfunctions for some reason

your really thinking this through haha. for the filter, i would cut a square whole in the front of the mailbox so the water being filtered doesnt go down and get filtered again.

Lol ya I'm known to overthink and tryout everything to the extreme. I would rather figure it out know though before the tank is filled and I can't do anything about it.
Not sure if I get what your saying. The filter will empty to the right of the overflow. Right into the tank. Just the intake tube will be in the overflow section.

    Still working on the overflow.
I'm looking to get a ro unit.
Anyone got any suggestions? I'm thinking a nice 50gpd would be perfect.

I have the same opinion on BB tanks.

my tank is using sugar fine argonite sand. Its a very lightly spread through out the tank, you can't even really call it a bed.

the other option you have is to use white marble, and scrap it clean of coralline occasionally like glass.

for the RO unit, try to get one with a TDS meter on it so you can tell when it needs new filters easier.

Ya I want one with inline tds meters. Just something that won't break the bank tho. Reason being I'm looking into gettin a RKL also.
