so i finally got some water and rocks in my tank! i got the rock and sand from a fellow reefer. both have been in a 220 for about 4 yrs. there is life crawling all over this stuff, and the sand to. so i figured i would start a thread. tank is a standard 55, overflowbox w around 20 gallon sump. live rock rubble in sump. if anyone has any suggestions on my tank let me kno.
oh and the lights are all cockeyed because i didnt get my t5's yet, those are the standard ones i had when this tank was a cichlid tank.

how long do you guys think my cycle will be? im thinkin pretty short since everything came out of such a established tank.

oh and i forgot to put the the tank underneath is a quarantine tank. i have a hose hooked up to a ball valve on the pvc so when i want to fill it i just turn the knob.

sorry for the pic quality (with my crappy cell phone)

If the rock was never dried out, you may not get any cycle, or just see some nitrite and not ammonia. But be aware that if you have no livestock in the tank, the bacteria population will start to die off because of lack of food.

you guys think i should put something in there to keep bacteria up?? or just leave it alone. im ok with leaving it alone, since it took me about 6 months to get all this together. i have a problem where i read about things 50 times before i do anything. so it took me forever to figure out what i was goin to do . i guess thats a good thing though. lol
