    Well this time around i am trying to do everything right.
    i had a 40g then a 55g then a 90g and i learned alot about what not to do with a tank and im hoping this tank i can prevent all those mistakes. first things first buy quality equipment the first time around.

    Bashsea BioFuge Sump
    Vertex IN 100 Protein Skimmer
    Mag 9.5 return
    Tunze Aquawind Fan
    Canopy with 2-175w 14K metal halides and 2 ati pure actinic t5's
    Reef Keeper Lite
    Vortech MP40
    Spectrapure ro/di unit
    Red Sea Coral Pro Salt
    50 lbs BRS Pukani Dry Rock
    40 lbs Special Grade Reef Sand.
    ATO single switch fed by Toms Aqualifter.

    I will be filling it this weekend.;D

    Prob going to do a mixed reef but really leaning towards more sps.

    Shes up and running now. Everything went real smooth other than the drain. it looks and sounds like a jet in a hot tub. some fancy pvc work should do the trick lol

    Any one have any fixes for the drain issue. It's blowing bubbles in the sump and its pretty loud. The actual overflow is pretty silent. I'm.thinking maybe a t with a vent?

    For the overflow into my sump I have a two fold approach:

    1: it's a 1" PVC pipe. The vertical section leading into the sump has about 10" of slots and holes drilled/cut into just to the point where the pipe is still soundly held together. it is important to have holes both above and below the water (about 5" above and below) and this will help a lot.

    2: filter sock - 200 micron felt filter sock from BRS. Cheap, reusable, very effective at helping to minimize microbubbles and silence the overflow, all the while filtering out some larger particulates as well!
