    Alrighht here we go

Found out my sump was leaking. It has to be replaced. I got a new go gallon and took my baffles out already.
Planning on starting the switch over Friday evening and finishing all day sat since I have to take everything out of my display and take it off the stand to get the sump out.
Let me know what u think of my process lol

Take all coral out of tank and jam as much as I can in a spare 29g with heater
Put some rock and fish in rubermaid container with heater
    Drink a beer
Put rest of rock and water into 55g garbage can with heater
Leave half a inch of water over sand and try to take 90g off
    Redo plumbing to herbie overflow
    Drink a beer
    Put new sump in
    put 90g back on stand
    Finish under tank plumbing
    Drink a beer
Put live rock in tank and fill mostly with old water
Wait till temp is correct and alclimate fish. Followed by corals.
    Drink a beer
    Followed by smoke a cig

    Hope nothing goes wrong lol

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Looks like a good plan.
Everything will be fine as long as you dont drink to many beers....LOL

sounds about right to me DBO

make sure you have enough capacity in the tank and the rubbermaid, ( I failed to do this properly once and ended up with a tank 1/4 full and had to empty my sons toy boxes for salt water)

    the beer quota seems good
but I would build in a couple of additional cigarette breaks ( well they would happen irrespective of planning)

good luck with it - try not to disturb that sand bed if you can help it
if it looks like its going to start sloshing about, might be a good idea to get rid of that and the last bit of water
re set up BB for now, and then add new sand after the tank has settled for a week or 2

Haha cigs will be mandatory as I will be freaking out the whole time.

BB is a good idea if the sand gets messed up. I'm hoping I won't have to. Me and one of my buddys will be moving it and it only has to go about 3 feet away from the stand so I think if we go slow enough it will be ok.

Finished the switchover. Took about 9 hours. What a pita that was.
    Pics to come later.

Oh and anyone not using a herbie overflow I highly suggest you switch over. It is dead silent and not one bubble comes out of the drain. Perfect system imo.
