Ok..most of ya know what a coil de-nitrator is..if ya don't just search this site and my build as well as much other info is here...thats not my story..BUT, I did build a coil denitrator and it worked, but I have not used it in awhile because I no longer have the need..So I was thinking of throwing it..But I got a brainstorm..uh oh...right?
So here we go...I generally do not have a heat issue..but on occasion I have had to throw in the ol'Bag o' ice..or frozen 2 liter bottles..(that my wife hates having in the freezer.):p
First thing is, I made it instead of going down the coils and dumping into the container of bio balls..it now goes down the (15feet) of coils then it elbows back up to the top and exits out the side..always contained in the tubing..with me so far..

put the cap on..snug is fine...this is how it looks..

made a jay shape in some 1/4 inch line
    [IMG]
hooked the line over the back of the tank and down to the sump area and doin a drip test..added a shut off valve and a "dump into sump" line..tested good..all gravity no pump required..works!;D

    Ok..NOW fill with ice..
Put it in place and turn on the valve..once its primed it runs, very slowly, which is a good thing..more contact with ice...each new time I use it I will run off a couple cups to waste, as to clear the lines of old water..

waaLa! Port'o chiller.. LOL..turn off valve... pop off line...unscrew cap..dump water ...siphon line stays prime..so just fill up with ice when needed and turn knob on...very "cool" indeed.8)

Good job! I do it the hard way and just make ice cubes with RO water then dump in the tank when frozen, been so damn hot here in the 90's, I need one.

instead of using ice cant you put a fan blowing into the cyclinder it will keep it cold and wont need to be constantly filled with new ice?? maybe ?? just an idea lol
