Dead algae that grows???

    Hey I have this algae that looks brown and dead. It comes off really easy and doesn't grow much longer than this. Anybody know what kind of algae this is?

    i had that, a blackout and fresh gfo will take care of it. you can use a toothbrush to really get most of it off the rocks until it starves out.
