Dead Coral causing Nitrates????

I do not have a sump. My skimmer is HOB.


So I do not have any first hand advise on an insump model - but I can say it is perfectly possible to get great results with an HOB model... but there is less choice.



A bigger sump can wait (indefinitely if you want). It will help, but it is not necessary.

Between the skimmer and the RO\DI unit... tough call. I might go with the skimmer first if you had to pick. But that will have to be balanced against your future plans for upgrading the sump. So in that case, I might go with the RO unit first and add the skimmer at same time as new sump...

It would be good to do more research and get more opinions on this.
