    Hey guys,

One of my fish died today after about 8-9 days in my tank. I'm almost certain its not my water because I have 2 clownfish, an anemone, and another fish ( I think a purple goby, someone bought it for me). These fish are doing excellent and my water parameters are perfect.

Do you think the LFS will exchange the dead fish if I give them a water sample? Any Ideas?

no. the longest I've seen any "warranty" on the fish is 7 days.

they *might* and it doesn't hurt to ask... them ;) sometimes they will at least give a partial store credit and that's better than nothing.

how did you acclimate it? what kind of fish is it - and if you don't mind, what are your water params? Sorry, but I don't know that you know what perfect is ;) (no offense)

When ever I got to my LFS I make sure the owner is there. He will always hook me up with something no matter what happens. Its worth a shot.

My tank is 29 gallons and it has been running for about 5 months.

I put the bag inside of the tank for about 30 minutes, then I netted him out and put him inside of my tank. I do this with all my of my fish and none of them show signs of stress. I think there was something wrong with this fish before I bought it. I'm gonna be honest with you, I dont know what kinda of fish it was, but I will describe it. It had a yellow belly, blue stripes running up and down its eyes and a blue/white freckle tail. It had the same shape as a yellow tang.

My SG is at 1.025. Temp is at 78 degrees F constant. I have 250W of 2X Acentic, 2X HO and 3 LEDS. My parameters are as follows:
    pH -- 8.2
    Alkalinity-- 8-12 dKH
    Ammonia-- Doesn't show very much.
Nitrite -- Doesn't show very much
    Nitrate -- 3
    Nitrogen-- very small
    Phosphate-- Less then 1 PPM
    Calcium -- 370

i dont understand "doesnt show very much"

that isnt good enough for such critical water parameters. if you tell your LFS that to get your money back they are going to laugh at you.

what kind of test kit are you using?
