the same place that sold you the fish gave you those test results? i personally would test my own parameters, you should go out and buy API test kits (accurate and pretty cheap) then test your own levels and see where you are at. get atleast ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.

and first of all i wouldnt purchase a fish that i didnt research before buying and understand the care, feeding and habitat that it needs. and if it is a tang, that tang will more than likely outgrow a 29g so take note on that.

the only thing I can say is that you should drip acclimate your fish, or atleast put them in a bowl and continuously add new water, you could have shocked the fish and it just took a while to die. The clowns are a more hardy so it was less stressful for them.

I agree. You need to know what you're putting in your tank dude.

Sorry for your loss. "Doesn't show very much" is unnacceptable for critical parameters like that. Should be a definite 0 for ammonia and nitrite.

so you paid 35 dollars for a fish you cant identify.

please get a book for begginer reef aquarists. look up the drip acclimate method of introducing livestock.

buy a good saltwater test kits to check your own water. are using RO water as well?

dont trust the salesman at your lfs to know your tank. thats your responsiblity.
he will sell you anything to make a buck. the only way you know if your guy at the fishstore is trustworthy is to prep yourself with the knowledge to debate ideas that dont make sense to you. research the reasearch basically. if that makes sense.

I know what you mean to lose a 35 fish. your paramiters say inside this and close to that.Whithout accutatereadings you probally wont get much. I lost a 150 fish this month. they asked what were the water paramiters and I told them to the dot and gave a water sample. they were right on and I still lost a 150 fish. I feel for you but you should know your water! to the dot not to the they were in the parameter. that is a big spectrum'

7 days is the max, but it would not hurt to try that's if they are a good fish store and it's not a high priced fish.
