So a couple of weeks ago, I got some LR w/ Polyps on it. They were out of light for about 2 weeks. As a result, some polyps died or just haven't opened up as yet.
My question is, What do I do with the dead or dying polyps?
Do I leave them on the rocks? or,
Do I break them off and dump them?

    2 weeks..??
Someone that knows more, may tell you different..
But if they were mine, I would leave them along.. I have had some come in really stressed.. All died... But weeks later started coming back out..
And didn't do any harm to my water.. JMO

    Good Luck, Larry

Wow... Cool... Thanks... I'll leave them in then. I have them right now with fluorescent lights 120watts but the curing tank is about 18 inches deep though. I'm supposed to be getting more LR this evening.

Leave them alone as for removing them from your tank!
Try moving them to another part of the tank where light, water flow and neighboring corals is changed.
Often times, this is all that it takes to stimulate the colonial polyps from opening up!
Have you checked for snails or nudibranches that could possibly be infecting the colony?

I'm going to move them up closer to the surface.
Yep I've checked for possible threats already and no sign. A decorator crab and another type of crab which I'm not sure of came along as hitchhikers. I can't find the other crab to take a photo.
Thanks for the info BTW. I'm gonna get some base rock on Sunday so that I can move them up closer to the light.
