dead rock and live rock

    hey everyone i have about 50 pounds of live rock, and want to add like 20-30 pounds more rock, is this too much?
    also can i use like a differnt kind of rock and the live rock thats in my tank would seed it?
    if so what kind and where can i find it?

    how big is the tank and how long has it been up and running? What kind of live stock do you have in it?

    i would nuke the new rock and let the rock in the tank re-seed it.

    You might want to check with your LFS for some base rock to seeded. You cannot just use any old rock as some rock will leach unwanted minerals into the water. I'm not sure what rock is ok or if i could even tell, but i can get base rock from my LFS for about 1.50 a pound.

    i got some base rock for 1 buck a pound, and added to tank. Mu existing LR will seed it with coralline and the such......
