    RIP big guy. He was my favorite. I had him for a good month and a half! :cry: Did a good job living too. How can I tell if he did any damage to my tank???

    test for ammonia, look for signs of purple in your tank, and if he was removed, (you have to remove them or they get gunky), whole and mostly intact I would say your okay if no ammonia or purple.

    sounds like it. they aren't toxic, but they can be really nasty if they deteriorate for some time and/or ink up your tank. Ink seems to stress out everything... I had a wharty sea anemone attack a sea hare once..(yep dumb to put the two in the same tank, but i was still learning/didnt know any better), by the time I pulled the hare from the nem, the water looked like purple kool aid, everything was stressed etc...it would have been something you noticed. Without ink in the tank though at least you won't have to worry about a bully. They aren't shy about inking when they feel they are in danger, probably nothing did it to the sea hare. If it makes you feel any better, they have a short life, (it depends on species but an expert on the subject said 6 months is about as much as you can hope for starting with a juvie), so without any clear signs to the contrary, I would chalk it up to natural causes. Doesn't bring it back though...sorry for the loss.
