I have a dead sponge from the sea i found on vacation. All i want to know is if it is okay to put in the tank with out any bad stuff happening, like decompisition and algae taking over. Its pretty cool and would be an awesome hideout for the fish. Anyone know if its possible?

I'm not certain on this, but I wouldn't do it. I'm running on what they tell you when it comes to curing LR. You know, 'make sure all the dead stuff like sponges' are scraped of before adding them to the tank.

    NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not a good idea at all as it has bad bacteria etc. in and on it as well as dirt/dust etc.
It would be detrimental to your water especially in my opinion!

Alot of sponges are also incredibly poisonous, do these poisons dissipate when the animals dies?
