    Hi,

I had a nuisance zoa taking over the tank so I took out the rocks and scraped them off (with nitrile gloves and safety goggles as precautions), I put the rocks back in and all the corals in there drew up as tight as could be although the fish seem fine.

I did the harvesting on Sunday and the corals did not open at all yesterday. Last night I did about a 40% water change and today things are looking up. My other zoas and my toadstool and some mushrooms are looking better, but my frogspawn, acans, and mushrooms which normally get very large are still fairly closed up. I'm assuming there's still a good amount of toxin in the water.

My question is whether or not there's any benefit to waiting before doing another water change? I was going to go ahead and do another ~25% water change this evening. Is that smart or should I wait?

    Thanks!

ps - I've removed the rocks with the problem zoas now, so hopefully the source of the toxins are gone.

Are you running carbon? It will help with the chemical warfare. Fragging or cutting zoas will stress them out, making them release their toxins into the water column which will affect other corals.
