Don't know if this as been covered before, or if all you zoa loving reefers are aware that zoas have one of the most toxic toxins known(Playtoxin) and the polyp (palythoa) even worse, only found out about this through doing research when i bought a frag of zoa's, never used gloves in my tank before but will be from now on, all you fellow reefers wear them too it's not worth the risk, read this...

Yup, been covered a few times, but there is no such thing as too much information WRT this topic. A gentle reminder that your Zoas can deal out a damaging blow if one is not careful. Protective goggles while fragging are a good idea as well as gloves. And THROW OUT THE WASTE WATER AS SOON AS YOU'RE DONE!!!!! You can bet your bottom dollar that you have a vat of poison when you have completed your task. How potent? You never know. So do not let it sit around. K+ for bringing it up.....

Always good to have a reminder. Coincidentally I bought a pair of coralife aqua gloves at the LFS today.

Are latex gloves reef safe? The kind that come like 300 to a box? (not the ones with that powder liner)

I don't believe latex are safe. Also, they only cover your hand, not your whole arm. Go the the LFS and they should have some gloves like the coralife aqua glove that cover your whole arm and are reusable .

Anyone ever heard of someone getting injured from zoas?

I read about it somewhere. Don't get scared and give away your zoas. Many people keep zoas and frag them with no protection and are fine. However, you really need to respect them. For example I wouldn't recommend fragging without protection or even putting your hand in a tank with them without a glove. Never put your hands in if they have an open or unhealed cut. Always wash your hands after putting them in a fish tank even without zoas.

Essentially, all of this can be summed up by saying be careful and use your head. If you think something might be dangerous, respect it, don't fear it.
