great idea....read more about it on the thread. You did mention that you're going to add a reactor so that will help as well but in the mean time, to get just get rid of the big tufts you've got, I'd use the peroxide.....

Will read up on it and ask any questions, also should i increase water flow thru my tank, maybe more circulation would help get more nutrients from water table down to sump?

adding flow is always a good thing in the tank....use a turkey baster and regularly blow off detritus on your rock helps too.

    Water quality

Well, got some new pumps today, eheim compact 600 for my phosban reactor and a Tunze nano stream 6025 to go with my hydor 850 for Display tank. Figure more water circulation get more gallons per hour running thru sump, have a Danner mag 9.5 as my system sub pump. Put in two 5 lbs dead coral rocks that were dry and out of water for about 2 years, put them in bucket of ro water for couple of hours then put them in tank, my nitrates went up to 20 my chemistry is as follows.calcium.360-phosphate 0.5-temp 26c-salinity 1.024-kh 179ppm.
Is the new coral jacking up nitrate, been doing 20 gallon water change every week, feed fish 3 frozen cubes half in am half in the pm. Going to do another water change after work tomorrow.Hate to stress livestock with high nitrates.Could increased tank circulation vause that temporarily?

you don't need to be overly concerned with nitrates at 20. I missed what new coral you added. Fish can tolerate much higher nitrate and the softies you have will be ok as well. What did you start at?

My phosphate is dropping but started with 10 nitrate, its around 15-20 but its hard because of colors on ati test card. Its not quite orange but not quite yellow...I think i m going to invest in some better test kit. And it was dead coral rock, all white and was out of water For over 2 years.
